I am ok with not being perfect.
I used to not be alright with that.
I have learned that we all fall,
We all try, and we all cry
And we even all will die.
And yet we move on
We all keep living,
We all keep striving.
I used to make excuses
For my mistakes,
Or imperfections.
Explain away
To justify, I don’t know why.
.
But now I realize
The mistakes are a part of me
That helps me be me.
A part of the mystery,
Surely teachers in disguise.
We all make mistakes,
We all fall down,
But only a few get up again
And learn to fly
When doubt sets in.
So be ok with the cracks,
Be alright with the holes,
Be ok with the faults.
Learn to get up,
And find the wind
That blows from within.
Movement creates movement,
Mistakes are teachers,
And imperfection is the perfection
That shines
When you realize.
Not giving in to the doubts within
Finding the beauty in the moment
While knocking on the door
“Let me in life,” I say.
I see your smile inside
The beauty all around,
that is trying to hide.
Go forth into the night
The imperfection that teaches your mind.
Embrace the joy
And celebrate the day
When things don’t go your way.
Be open to it all,
The wisdom of the ages
In every moment
In every darkness
And in every light.
Light the candle and see it shine
Open to thoughts and rhymes.
The mystery unfolds,
The beauty we behold.
Don’t be afraid to see the light
Inside the cracks and the voids.
I will be there with you
Smiling and laughing.
Encouraging you as you have encouraged me.
We can weather the storms and find the fight inside
“Oh hello, there you are,” we say.
Be sure you bring your raincoat
With the patch on the sleeve.
The one you have kept
Because it still feels right.
It is perfectly imperfect
And reminds you to be ready
When the deluge falls from the skies.
Be ok with the patch,
Be alright with the cracks.
Make mistakes
And learn to laugh
And learn to cry,
And mostly learn to fly
Without making a sigh.
This is beautifully written. "Imperfection is the perfection" is such an incredible reframe. 👏
Nicely done- mistakes should be our biggest teacher for sure.
